iWill Community Project

iWill Community Project

Average Reviews

A social action project across Saltash and Callington that seeks to empower young people within these communities to have a positive impact on their local environment, while developing their personal identity and self-confidence.

Participants will research and then consult with peers about their community spaces and how these could be better utilised to meet the needs of our young people. They will then present their findings to key stakeholders (Cornwall Council, Youth Services) in the hope of gaining support with their findings.

iWill have also recently designed an additional programme that looks at engaging with young adults living with additional challenges.  This programme targets school leavers from mainstream education who may find navigating the transition from teenager to adulthood harder including those with autism, ADHD and mental health issues.

Benefits of the programme:

  • Improves young people’s confidence  and empower them through the processes of the projects
  • Reduces social isolation with the hope to make young people more accountable and motivated
  • Young people can make a positive difference to others and the local areas around them.
  • Young people will learn a range of new skills such as volunteering, campaigning, supporting others, public speaking, presenting findings and making a research project.
